I had the same surgery 2 years ago (on my left arm) and will probably need to get the right one done sometime AFTER bow season! I understand completely what you're going though.
Since you apparently can shoot now and will be able to hunt until the operation -- why not postpone the operation until after the season? A hunting buddy of mine did exactly that last year and I'm planning that right now as well. The torn labrum will still be there!

Sorry to hear that man. Dont worry, I'll hold off all the TN bucks while your getting mended. LOL. Have you thought about getting a crossbow? You dont have to be handicapped in TN to hunt with one anymore. But I think that you would fit the bill either way if you couldnt use your right arm for 6 months.
