Default Attatching Safety Line

This will be the year I break a bad habit of *never wearing a safety harness. I bought the HSS vest, it came with an instructional dvd but the dvd isnt working properly, tried it in both my dvd players, its all scrambled and skips. I understand how to put on the vest and all, im just confused on attatching the safety line to the tree. I have the cord with two looped ends and the prusik knot/cord on it. Anyone know of a site that has detailed instructions on attatching it? HSS site only has instructions on putting on the vest and adjusting its tension.

If its like the one I have, you have to attach one end with the carabeaner to the vest, and then you slip the nylon strap through the other then around the tree.

The lifeline is used when ascending or descending the tree. You first have to climb into your stand and reach above your head and attach the long lifeline by slipping the longend through the loop at the top. Now when you descend you attach your harness tether to the prussic knot on the lifeline and descend. When you get to the bottom and disconnect from the prussic knot tie the lifeline to secure it at the bottom so you can ascend without the line getting limp and weak. The lifeline should be directly opposite from where you climb on the tree so you will need some slack in the lifeline.
