If you dry-fire a bow, and the the string comes off the cam. Would you need a new string if the strands of the string are separated.

yep, if the string look like the one picture. I would also check the limbs, nuts, bolts andother accessories on the bows if it need replacement. if you don't know what to check for take it into a proshop they should know what to look for.

Didn't mean any harm, but thats kinda like throwing a bowling ball through your windshield then asking if it needs to be replaced.

But actually do answer your quesion. NO. Not every time a bow is dry fired will it mess it up. With today's bows anyways. But you still should check EVERYTHING out.
