geter, my buddy signed me in today bci had morning classes. he said he wsa there at 7am and no one showed up while he was there. u may still be in luck. but it doesnt fill up to quick... the other parts however.... camp overnight if u want opening day at any of them... we arre bringing beer, venison and a grill. need to get there at probably 6pm the day before. there were only 19 people registered thus far at the ranger station monday. there were around 26 last year at this time. i think u may still be okay.... once u get ur license call the rnager station to sign in. (im not sure if u have get your car pass first before your allowed to sign up or not) good luck

I caught something like that one time when I was in the navy ....only way to get rid of them is to go to a movie ...when the movie starts tell them to hold your seat while you go get pop corn

geterdun,

I'm glad to hear you took precautions against lyme disease. Two friends of mine both contracted lyme disease this summer and they both live in suburban Washington DC!!! Lyme disease is a very real and potent threat to many on the East Coast. What kind of preventative medicine did the Doctor give you in reference to Lyme Disease? I did not think there was one. Was it pills? or a shot? If I knew of one I would definately take it ( although it may just be for short term scenarios like yours). Lyme Diseaseis seriously debilitating in the Short term and can be chronically debilitating depending on several factors.

hey guys, this is me (geterdun2) just at my home using my alternate username.

gogo - for the other parts of the park, they dont open until later in the year right? october i think? carter is the only property open on sept 15, the actual MD opener right? yea i tried to register for a cabin for the 14th and 15th, but the big ones were already taken. im not sure about the smaller ones, i will have to check, you know they are the same prices? lol i dont see why anyone would get a little one over the big one. do i need to physically go there? or can i do it over the phone? im going to need to go there anyway to check the cam in the next day or so, maybe tomarow, so i can do it then but i need to get my license first, so i might do it all tomarrow. but for the actual opener, you think theres still some space lefT? im less worried about registering for the other parts right now as i am for the opener, i would like to ensure myself a spot there. i think i DEF will call them tomarrow to make sure there are openings, and then go to dicks and get my tags and then ride down there, check the cam and register for the opener. i hope its not already taken. yea, i was going to rent a mini cabin and bring 3-4 friends with me (they dont hunt, just camp) with some beer and a grill also, but with hotdogs since my venision has run out since last year - I NEED SOME MORE lol. question: do you think i can get the car pass before i actually sign up - this way i can get it tomarrow and in case i dont have time to get my license, get it this weekend and then call in my name and sign up. i beleive they give me a specific hunter "number" right?

so, im still wandering if there is a plentiful amount of deer there? i have heard good things like i said, but i also heard that there arent any real big deer around. i guess it doesnt matter since im just going for some meat ya know. but yea bud, when i hunt ill let ya know and maybe we can meet up after a hunt or something one morning.

hillbilly - it was a pill, a antibiotic, i think it was caled doxi-something, ill get the exact name tomarrow for ya. yea i just want to be sure i dont get it, i heard its extremely bad to get, like an extreme flu.

thanks alot guys, im going to go play some playstation (alaskan adventure [8D]), ill check back in a little bit.

You probably got Doxicyclene. That's a pretty effective and versatile antibiotic.

My wife got Lyme disease this summer. The drug is Doxycycline. She had a fever for a week but the doctor wouldn't give her anything until the blood test came back. I finally put her on pennicillin after day 3 and the fever broke. The symptoms can come back at any time,it can remain dormant in your body.
You get it from the deer ticks (the tiny pin head ones) not from the Brown dog ticks (much larger and easily seen). Contrary to popular belief the little ones aren't baby ones, with a magnifying glass they look like minature ticks.
