Oak leaves stay on the longest.

what you can do is find some old plastic xmas trees and zip strip the stems to the ladder stand. I was always goign to do this and you can sometimes pick some up at garage sales and stuff pretty cheap.

I set my ladder stand back behind 2 tree's and mounted it on the 3rd tree and you can hardly see it there,I also left most of the lower branches on the 2 front tree's to hide the stand even better.I have had several deer walk right past the stand when I was Turkey hunting and Coyote hunting at different times of the year...Oh yeah and my trail camera is only about 20 yards away from it and I have had plenty of deer pictures too!

i've onlyhunted 1 season with my ladder stand (last year) and didn't have it brushed in at all. i've had deer walk within 10 yards of me, practically right underneath me several times. i think the trick is to have it in place well before the season so the deer get used to seeing it and don't consider it a threat. it's an inanimate object and as long as you don't get it all scented up, it probably won't phase them.

I don't brush them in at all and have deer under it and next to it constantly.. Got to put it in long time before opening day though so they are used to it.

I used to camo paint them but now I do nothing and I have never seen a deer that it bothered. Ladder stands is all I use. I have 12 out on my 135 acres. I don't pull them at the end of the season. The deer are just used to them I guess. Killed 2 P&Y's last year out of newest one.

camo paint mine but i feel the more brush the better due to the fact that lastyear i moved my stand to a new location with less brush around me and i saw less deer and i feel that the stand stuck out like a sore thumb so its moving back to the old spot where i have had deer walk under it o and its a huge 2 person stand so i burlap the top of it
