I try to get there as early as possible as GMMAT suggests. I have spooked a couple of deer on my way to stand/blind, ususally not far from bedding areas a half hour to an hour before first light and I don't like it. In the blind, it's easy enough to take a light snooze and my two man ladders make it easy enough to rest quietly for that time. If you're hunting near bedding areas, which can be done right, you need to get in there plenty early for morning hunts.

I like to be in it 45 minutes before sunup. That way I give enough time for everything to settle down.

I just get in my stand the day before and sleep in it. Set my phone to vibrate to wake me up. Seems to work well. [8D]

30-45 minutes completely setup and ready to hunt.....

Except if I have to walk thru a field to get to a stand setup, I will then wait until first light to make sure I am not running deer out of the fields.

[/align]I make sure that I'm in the tree before the sky begins to show any signs of light.
