Default Shrink Tubing on Summit Cables

My shrink tubing needs replacing on my cables. I know Summit sells replacements, but the guys I shoot with said you can get some stuff that you paint on. Anyone here have any experience with this stuff. Would I just be better off getting the tubing and being done with it?

I'd just spend the dough and get the Summit ones.....it's the only thing keeping you in the tree......I wouldn't take any chances.

I firgured the SUmmit stuff would be the way to go. My friends looked at me like I had an arm growing out of my head though when I said I was going to buy them. Not sure what their deal is!
