I have shot some tight groups at 60 when I was set up for long yardage shooting but don't recall any that tight. This bow is setup for hunting with a big peep and .029 pins.Short stabilizer and a relatively short bow.

I have had 2 arrows touching at 70 yards and that was all I shot.

I won a half pot shot when I hit the center x at an unknown 69 yards.Took 2 shots to get yardage and then I nailed it.

I don't shoot like that now, mostly because I don't shoot 200 arrows a day like I used too and partly because my equipment is setup differently.

This was only 20 yards.Just trying to show that feathers are not loud, just thought arrows hitting the target would be cool to add.Especially when one takes the nock off another.

None of you guys hear the wizzing noise the feathers are making or doI just have super hearing?

I'm not nocking feathers at all. They've killed deer for a lot longer then anything else and work great.

I'm just trying to figure out what that noise is if it isn't the feathers?

Yes,you are hearing them but to hear people talk, they are supposed to be reallyloud, but to me that isn't loud and I am listening to it in ear phones with the volume up loud.

I quess I need to shoot vanes to compare them too but it's been my experience that vanes are the same, especially the thin flimsy kind.Wrinkled vanes are really loud.

TFOX,
I'd like to watch the video, but my lousy dial-up at home takes forever, and at work, our NMCI (Navy and Marine Corps Internet) prohibits us from visiting the youtube site. Still, from the sound of it (no pun intended), I'm good to go with my feathers.

I understand what you are saying. No, it isn't loud and i had mine cranked up too with headphones. I would think that either way a deer would ahve no clue what the heck it was. It almost sounds like a loud bee stuck on buzz.

When it comes to Blazers it seems that out of some bows they are loud and others not loud. I've been trying to figure exactly why that is. the only answer I can come up with is rest contact.

I get noise from my feathers on my Axis(very noisy) and FMJ shafts but I don't hear anything from my GT (75/95camo). I thought is was because of the weight difference but they are only 20-30 grns. different(GT's are the heavyest). Maybe it's the shaft dia.

I'm shooting an 07 Allegence 70lbs 29" draw (27" arrow). Maybe the noise has something to do with speed. Not sure how fast my arrows are going, maybe next week I'll crono it with the differnt shafts.

I really like the feathers but the noise bugs me. My Blazers don't make any noise.

You sure you don't got that backwards on which one weighs more? The 7595's are 8.9 gpi. The FMJ's for your set-up would be a minimum of 9.9 and are more than likely 11.1 gpi. The Axis are probably 9 or 9.5 gpi depending on the shaft you are using.

Speed will make any vane or feather louder,as will the accuracy of which they are glued on. Feathers that are "ruffled" will also be louder.
