I was just wanting everyones opinion on the use of Scent Lok and if you think it is a must for Whitetail Deer hunting. Personally myself I do not have Scent Lok but that is prolly just because its too much money for it.
Thanks!

I do not know if you have gathered anything since your original post. I don't knowhow many have used an how many have notbut it is your money an there are alot of statements that can be made about the product. I do have some of it an do like it. I still play the wind because it would but foolish not to play the wind. I can not use it all the time because of the temps are warm the first part of theseason. I for one can not tell you if it works or not but it is not neccessary as long as you play the wind.

For those that want to pounce on this statement, fill free show your intelligence.

Lungbuster, don't let this topic discourage you.It happens to be one that seems to get a lot of fellows panties in a bunch. Why someone would care what someone else spends their money on is beyond me.Unless I am giving someone the money It is none of my business how they spend it.
My personal opinion is that it is not necessary, but I do believe it helps.I have had two sets of the liners over the years and I have noticed a difference in the way deer respond to me when they are down wind.I will say now my scent control routine is so rigorous I rarely get winded with or without the liner on.

Hey atlas, nyahh nyahh nya nyahh nyahh[:-]

because you have nothing of value to add on the topic.
Ohh and you do? Well let's hear it Mr. Carbon Expert Rhetorical Question Answer Man.

I am the one who is stupid? You are the one who goes on defensive every time someone makes a statement you don't agree with. Lighten up dude. You are the childish one. Cause that is what kids do atlas. They argue. Now if you don't have an educated reply to this thread why did you respond to begin with? Childish. You wanted to argue.

RE: Do you think Scent Lok is a must?

To talk negatively about a product is not to "bash" it. If no one ever said anything bad about
anything on this site, it wouldn't be worth much. I've learned a lot here.

I don't have a motive in any of this and neither do most of the posters on here, other than to give
their honest opinions.

The argument that we are giving the antis ammo by arguing over the merits of scent-lok or any other
piece of hunting equipment is pure nonsense.

All that said, I don't post much on these topics anymore. The last one I posted on was where
a kid was trying to figure out how to spend his very limited funds, be it on good arrows, broadheads,
a rangefinder, etc. or Scent-Lok. I thought that was the appropriate time to speak my piece.

I don't really buy into the "science" and will be using silver stuff this year , but part of that is the
fact that my scentlok suit is very hot (and a lot of my hunting is in warm weather), and partly
b/c the camo pattern was the worst of the human blob patterns.

I'm new to this forum but it seems rather silly to me to be bickering over a silly issue like this! If you think it works use it...................if you think it's crap, keep your mouth shut and don't use it! That's what's great about America we are free to use or not use whatever we want and yes free to say whatever also but like was said earlier in this thread, why bash something, just state your opinion on wether you think it is a must or not and be done with it!
Ok, but why do the ones that don't use it have to keep THEIR mouths shut? Why can't the guys that DO use it keep their mouths shut? THAT'S what's great about America, we are free to use and not use what we want, and we are free to say whether we like it or not, and why.
What I mean by that is if you don't like it or use it you don't need to bash it..................and for that matter if you have never used it you have nothing worth saying because you have no experience with it...........I have used scent lok and still sometimes wear a jacket made from it,but I don't believe it is a MUST and I also would not bash it by saying it's a waste of money for someone that believes in it..................the guy that started this thread asked a simple question and 7 pages later it seems to be a war of scent lok vs. non-scent lok seems rather silly to me. And being new to this forum if this is what it is all about i don't think I will stick around long..........there are way too many hunting forums out here that do this same crap everyday and it gets old![:@]

RE: Do you think Scent Lok is a must?

I have been around a few hunting forums for some time.............I am a moderator on a very mature and informative site, that does not argue over silly things like does scent lok work or doesn't it! Seems to me there are obviously people on here that just like to argue and hi-jack threads for their own pleasure.........the comment I made about the anti's using this as fuel was, this is just like every other stupid argument we as hunters seem to have..........if we can't get on the same page with each other it won't be long before the liberals take away our privileges to hunt and our choice of weapon to do so!

Some people need to find better things to do with their time than to talk down to other hunters on a website! I enjoy most of the forums i visit because there is a commaraderie that is shared and because most of them are a good place to learn and have intelligent discussions. If you don't agree with something someone says that is fine,it's your right, but to keep talking down to people and making light of telling people to leave is just retarded thinking!
Obviously not everyone is going to agree on issues and that is what is great about our country ,we are free to think and say what we want........but if you keep going to a site just to get a rise outta people and start an argument I don't think YOU belong in this community. I think I would speak for 99% of the members here when i say that putting members down for what they say or think should not be tolerated.........speaking openly about a product or service is what is expected, but then for someone to just chime in to argue is self defeating and it ruins a lot of sites..........................if you truly want a site where everyone feels welcome, The Mods. need to curb some of this childish crap ....................it's getting old!

Tell me what site and I bet I will find some discussions about what equipment people use, its the nature of the beast, especially with men that have egos (most hunters). Unless your site gets very little traffic and has a very low number of members.

Seems to me there are obviously people on here that just like to argue and hi-jack threads for their own pleasure.
Umm, this would be you, right? That is how it seems to me anyway.

I whole heartedly agree and I wish you would stop doing it. I don't think anyone told you to leave, just that it was your option to do so and they wouldn't cry in their milk and cookies over it.

I think I would speak for 99% of the members here when i say that putting members down for what they say or think should not be tolerated.
I think your numbers are bit high, especially considering you think most of us just want to argue, bicker and put each down for no apparent reason. I do agree with you however and if I was a moderator I would delete your posts along with some others and possibly lock the thread since it has obviously gone to heck in a hand basket. I'm not a Mod though so I guess I will just live it.

Like anything, If it makes you feel better, than good on ya! Comfort and mind set is essential to the confidence you need to drop an animal.I bought a Scent Loc suit a couple years ago. Made no difference to me. I had deer under me before, and after. Can't say it helped. Can't say it hurt. I'm one of those folks who don't perspire much. Limits my scent Irecon. I wash the suit with my regular hunting cloths these day (nice camo). Maybe somebody can prove the stuff scientifically, I don't know. Sure wish somebody could invent something to get those deer out prior to dark andalilviate my sittingin my stand a couple hours after dark. Missed many dinners, and deer, because of that dark thing.:D
