Wow buckmaster, thanks for this post. You're right, we do take a lot of things for granted and this post just made me realize that it's been a few weeks since I last thanked God for everything he's blessed me with: an amazing family, a great job, awesome friends, and more material possesions than I need (even though I want more). It's absolutely breathtaking when you start to think about everything God hassupplied you with.

I'd like to take this time to encourage anyone who hasn't already done so to read the book "Wild At Heart" by John Eldridge. All I will say about it is it is hands down the best book I have ever read and if you allow your heart to embrace the message of the book, you will be a better person through and through. You will definately be thanking God for everything you have after reading it. I think that any man who loves the outdoors and being a little wild will love this book.

Working 2 1/2 hours from home and family doesnt seem like a blessing but it is. I see homeless people everyday and its kind of wierd but I wonder if they could go hunting one time would it help to change their life around. Or I wonder what I could do for them to help.Thats a wierd thought seriously but it strikes me. Im always thinking about spending time in the woods. That is when Irealize I am truely blessed. I thank God for it everytime I think about it. But all too often we forget to thank him for anything at all. I think that if you are part of this forum you are definately blessed there are some great people that are part of this website and I admire many of them.

Great post, thank you for reminding us of who and what ismost important as we hit the woods. I thank Jesus most of all for sacrificing himself on the cross so all of us can freely ask him in our hearts and he washes us clean from our sin so we can go boldly to the the thrown of God in our hearts/prayers/worship. He is truely apart of every area of my life and has become my daddy and is a huge part of my hunting life. I think him for my wife and 3 beautiful daughters, the last one born on Valentines day this year after a really tough pregnancy. She and my wife are totally healthy and doing well. I think him for a great job, friends, family, and the connection and fellowship with all of you on this site. He truely has provided places for me to hunteach year and had helped me with every deer harvest. I love spending time with him, in his woods, enjoying the creation he gave us in abundance.

Thank you Lord for everything, please keep us all safe and from injury as we head out to the woods and in our stands, and let us not have one loss of life of anyone on this site. Protect us and keep us in everything we do. I pray for this to be one of the best seasons we have all had and I pray we get the time in the woods we need to get refreshed and the venison we want and need because you care about every detail of our lives. We love you Lord and give you all the Glory for the deer harvested this year.
