I am with you TJ. You should always pick a spot rather then just shooting the body.

Why would you pick out such a large target? Again aim small miss small, juast as I said!

And you mean what by that?? I am just saying that is the KILL zone any arrow in that region is a dead deer! We as bowhunters know of what angles too shoot into a deer it comes natural with years of practice and experience.... ya know what i mean?

Aim for the heart every time. Factor in the angle and where I need to aim to hit the heart as im drawing back to shoot. Pick that exact spot and let it fly. Longest track last year was 80 yards shortest being 40 yards.

It really depends on the distance. At slam dunk range out to say 25 yardsI aim at a line about a third up on the body. At longer ranges I aim for dead center. I figure that way it gives me more room for range estimation errors. That said, it depends on the deers attitude and state of nervousness. I have on occasion aimed at the belly line of super nervous deer and ended up with a dead center impact at less than 20 yards. It all comes with experience.
