For a heart attact? How many of you are out of shape for the hunting season? I know I am. I take way too many meds forhigh blood presure, high cholesterol and now dibetes. I am also carrying about 25 lbs of extra weight and am short winded. Prime candidate for a heart attactwhile dragging out a deer in 80+ degree tempurtures. Started hitting the treadmil everyday Aug 1. Started at 15 minutes at varying speeds and inclines adding 5 minutes a day till I reach an hour. If I can't progress at that rate I will slack off the 5 minutes a day increase till I reach my goal. I for one don't want to put my hunting partner in a bad situation. Get in shape guys while there's still time, you owe it to the people around you.

Trying to do what I can to get in better shape , taking long walks in the woods , taking my hero dog for a walk around the nighborhood.
Watching what I'm eatting as I'm eatting it , sometimes I just can't stop myself my wife is such a good cook, I hate to leave any leftovers.

I've dropped close to 10 pounds in the last month or so preparing for my elk trip... Been running pretty hard consistently almost every night... I think I"ve missed twice in the last two weeks, but never two days in a row.

I've been hunting for years, but never did feel the need to work out. And then...came hunting.net. After reading all of what you guys have been doing, I got the treadmill out of the basement and put it in the garage. I've been lifting weights every other day and treadmilling ever other day. I've been shooting my bow every morning and every evening. I haven't been in this good of shape in 15 years!!! Come on August the 25th!!!!!!

I've dropped 23lbs since January and I expect to loose another 20lbs by December.

My regiment:

Walk 4.5 miles 4-5 times a week (mostly uphill/woods terrain)
Weights 2 times a week for one hour minimum.

Wha La! A new me!

Good post. My dad fell over dead after dinner a month ago with no warning. Although I don't believe anyone can extend their life beyond Gods decision exercise will make the quality of your life much better.
