Advice on how to handle this properly...
#1
[:@][:@]I have a pair of Nikon Action binos, 12X50, used them last season and that is it. Got them out this spring and it was looking through a kaliedescope. So, I send them to Nikon to get them repaired. The send me the cost ($10.00 +12.50 shipping) and they will be fixed, just like new. Well, I get them back yesterday, and they are exactly the same as when I left them and it doesn't look like anyone even touched them.
Question is, how do I proceed. I don't want to get stung with the shipping again, since I paid for shipping both ways the first time ($25.00). I know I need to call them, but how should I press the fact that they are the same as when I sent them in. If it is anything like the first call, they are going to say that I must have dropped them again (which I never did in the first place) but I literally took them out the of the box and looked down the road and saw three images.
any advice is appreciated.

All you can do is bump it up the chain; find out who the next higher person on the totem is at Nikon, and be sure to tell them that if they don't get this fixed to your satisfaction, you're replacing them with Leupold!

I'd just give them a call... you might be surprised. I have Nikon rifle scopes and one set of their bino's. I've never had a problem. I would hope their customer service is as good or better than their product, but you never know. Be sure to let us know how it turns out! Good luck!

Be nice, until its time not to be nice. All the optic companies have way to much compitition for them to loose you over somthing like this. If they dont cooperate then, like it was mentioned before, tell them your switching brands.

Good luck with Nikon.
I had a nice digital camera and it stopped working under the 1 year warranty. They claimed it was
water damage, but I don't know how or when that would have occurred (possibly condensation???).
It cost me like $200 + shipping to repair it. I fought it as best I could and said I wouldn't buy
another one (which I won't), went up the chain of command, but it didn't do any good.
I know I'm not even a fly on an elephant's a#%, but that won't stop me from making good on
my promise to not buy Nikon stuff.
Leupold, now they treated me right on a very screwed up scope issue. Took a while,
but they got it right.

Call them and tell them they weren't repaired. It's that simple. Tell them it's on their dime. If they say no still be nice and go up the chain. Don't stop until you get satisfaction and/or reach the CEO.

and their binos...
