Ive been wanting to get a new bow for a few years now .
I finally decided between 1st and 2nd choice bows .
After reading everything on the web, and magazines, and word of mouth ,. etc. I was ready to buy my new bow this morning .
I decided it was in my best intrest to go to a repitable bow shop after some research etc.
I found a shop abought an hour from my residence .
Iwnet to the same shop in february and shop 3 different bows ( all the same brand )
Ok. its Bowtech,, and the Tribute is what I want ,
Any way I called the shop tech on Sunday morning and told him I,d be over Tuesday or Wednesday morning to finally buy my new bow .
We talked for a while abought the bow , draw length, etc, etc.
Monday morning I called back and talked to the owner .
I said I,d be over and he said Tuesday was better .
I said o.k. and he informed me he had one new Bowtwch Tribute left and that they sold one on Sunday .
But he would hold it for me .
Anyway after ariving there this morning , the tech that was supposed to be there wasnt going to be there until 1 pm.
No problem , the tech I was talking to said they all can put together and tune the bows.
So I said well I waited this long saved up $1200. for EVERYTHING NEW .
I didnt have a problem with who sets it up and tunes it .
So we go over to the bow s on display and he hands me a brand new ??? Tribute that has a junk sight , kisser, peep, loop, and rest already on it .
Not counting a few nice scratches .
My face must have been glowing red....
I said hasnt this been shot /
He says probably only a few times, So my wife asks him after she notices my face glowing ( not with glee )I f they have a new bow in the box ?
He goes upstairs for abought 30 seconds and comes back and shakes his head no .
I was so pissed I could hardly talk .
My problem is I dont have another Bowtech dealer even close to me .
If you ever felt between a rock and a hard place but with frustration , this was me .
I talked to him for a while asking if there was anything they would or could do to persway me into buying the bow ,lower bow price, ad a wb rest , 5% off ???
He says there committed to the custumer service so theres no flexing of the prices .
He says they have 2 more on order and should be in in 2 weeks ??
He said hed put my name on one if I wanted .
I ended upleaving with no bow and very upset and discuraged ,
I figure if I,m paying retail for a bow ( nib) Thats what I should be getting .
I asked him if he would give his $750. dollar bow to 6 or 8 custumers and have them shoot it for 20 -30 minutes alone ??
He had no coment , but he totaly agreed with me aboyght being fussy and expecting new although he could not help me out .
I dont no maybe I,m to picky but I dont no who shot the bow and how much or if it was dry fired , etc..
Now I,m lost on what to do do to the deer season comming up and having to wait at least 2 more weeks .
Ive been on vacation since Saturday and its been doing nothing but rain ,
The shop had one other custumer that came in after me , So it was the purfect day . Raining quiet and noone to bother us seeting up my new bow .
Everything was Great ,?? Except no bow .
Sorry so long , just ranting and raving a little .
What should I do ??
Buy from the internet ?? Wait 2 more weeks , Buy my 2nd or 3rd choice bow ??? 2nd Diamond Black Ice and 3rd is Mathews Switchback XT ...
wHAT WOULD YOU DO ??[

That is pretty agrivating. I wouldnt be against purchasing one over the internet though...you can order everything exactly the way you want it and have it all soon enough and get it set up for season!
Still sucks they led you on like that

I would go to a different dealer if you are not impressed with this one. You may not be able to get the Bowtech, but in the long run if you find someone willing to work with you, they will be there when you need help.
The shop I bought my AR from does not do enough business to have a single new bow for you to test shoot. I dont even like to go there anymore because I know I will have to wait to have something fixed.
You will only need the dealer if you have problems with your bow, by then your bow is broken and your dealer is not going to be helpful.
Just my .02$

Well let's see???? You went there in February and shot 3 different bows to get the feel. It's OK for someone to buy the bows you test fired but you won't buy one if it's had an arrow through it? The rest can be changed or upgraded. Sites, restetc are accessories...... you get the one you pay for. The bow has a warranty whether it's out of the box or shot a thousand times. The Bowtechs don't come with them. I'd say you're professing one thing..."it's out of the box or I'm not buying".... and "Oh, I want you to set up these bows for me to try out". A dealer can't do it both ways unless you're willing to wait for a couple weeks for a bow to come in. Give him your deposit. Tell him you want new and stop your crying. If you wanted it sooner you should have ordered it sooner. Bowtechs are hot and they go fast. Dealers can't keep them. I was in a Mathews dealership not too long ago that was trying to get the Bowtech line because that's what people wanted and he didn't have them. He still doesn't and probably won't. Discouraged??? Upset??? Mad??? The guy is out of bows. It cost a lot of money to stock them. They try to stock what they think they'll sell and not much else. They come in a variety of draw lengths, weights etc. They can't stock them all in hopes that the guy that shot a couple arrows from 3 different bows in February walks in the day it arrives at his store. It's a small business that demands managing and not overstocking. and... WHAT should you do???? Buy from the Internet???? Are you serious? You have no idea what you'll get from the internet and there's no return. It could be shot a zillion times.... and you won't find a new bowtech there. I waited a couple months for my bowtech. My shop owner waited a lot longer for a left handed bowtech. That was the production schedule, lefties waited until they answered the call of the majority... right handed folks. and to think... you're worried about a couple arrows through a bow.

If a shop owner tells me he has a "new" bow that he will hold for me until the next day and I get there and find out this "new" bow has noticeably large scratches on it I would be very upset as well. When you buy a car that's been test driven there might be a couple hundred miles on it but should not be any scratches or dents. Just my .02

No one said large scratches. Paint on any bow is not perfect. If it's a noticeable scratch OK, wait for a new one. As far as the shop owner goes. He did what he said. He had a NEW bow and he held it for the guy. Scratches may not have been noticed or known about. HE offered and alternative... I'll put your name on one of the next ones coming in. And tell me you ever bought a car without a blemish on it...really... I don't think so. You want to pitch a tizzy and go buy second shelf... have at it.[8D]
My shop gets a bow in they usually put a site or at least a rest and loop on it so people CAN experience the shot and the feel of the bow. If the draw length is wrong they'll change modules or whatever they have to do to make it fit you so you can really try it out. They're new bows that have been tested... they aren't worn out. As far as warranty goes... they're new when you walk out the door with them.

No, what I was saying was I wouldn't go to a car dealership and buy a new car with scratches on it. I realize almost any bow will be shot some unless your actually right there when the shop gets it. But from hearingthe shop ownersay a new bow and then seeing scratches on it I would be upset as well.

Deep breath Dave! In with the good out with the bad.
