Climbers are great for moving around and for public land. Why go to the trouble of hanging a stand each time you go in the woods. A good set of sticks and a good hangon are as expensive as most climbers.
Hangons are great for leaving in the same tree so all you have to do climb up your sticks or steps and just hunt without the hassle of hanging the stand each time. Hangons will also accomodate more trees.
All above is just my opinion.

This stand looks like it would be a killer, literally.
Gorillas are reasonable on price but the most comfortable one in my opinion for a hang-on is the Millennium. Spend a little money and get a good one. It is worth it.

Just read where you are Climbing. That is fine. I have owned and useda lot of different fixed position stand and climbers. Some are good for certain reasons and some are good for certain reasons. Here is my opinion.
#1 Noise from parts and movement must be minimum to none. Check all of the parts and stand on one and move around. Some aluminum magnifies sound much worse than other material. Thinner aluminum will "ting" much worse than thickeraluminum. Steel is very quiet but heavy. see #4
#2 Comfort. Sit in them. A small seat will wear you out. a bigger sling style seat is
comfortable for me.
#3 Ease of operationin set-up,climbing, and descending. Check from square one to climbing and setting in position. How easy and quiet is it?
#4 Weight. Depends on how far you pack.
These arethe important things to me. There are a few companies that have been making climbers for a long time and have made positive improvements along the way.
Summit and API aretwo that come to mind and have made their stands much better in the last several years. But you will not get a good one for the money you are willing to spend. This is my opinion after much trial and error. Save your money and spend $200-$300 for a good climber.

I own two rivers edge hang ons and feel perfectly safe in them, one I paid around 40.00 for and the other one I think I paid 55.00 for that because it has a nice thick padded seat. The cheaper one has a hard plastic seat but its still comfortable. Im not to enthused about the looks of the strong built myself. It looks pretty cheaply made and looks like it could swing out from under you when you get on it. When buying a stand, think durrability and comfort over cost. Youll be much more happier and safe. Look at Gorilla or Rivers Edge stands, you wont be disapointed.
