Coffe on the back deck.....and the turkeys are STILL goin' crazy in our woods. How long will they keep this up (how late in the year?)?

I swear I couldn't find these guys during the season.....but they sure seem like they'd be easy to set up on, now.

Happy Saturday morning, guys. Hope yours is as nice as mine. I'm gonna check the trail cam here in a while. I'll post photos.

I have heard them making a ruckus in the fall, just last year APAJaws and I were hunting my place in PA during October and had one gobbling between us.

No, it isn't. Had to come in to work this morning.

I hope your trail cam photo luck is better than mine. Checked it last night after 6 days. No photos. Rehung it elsewhere. While hanging it this leafy branch was getting in the way, rubbing my face, etc. When I was about done I realized that it wasn't a branch but a huge poison ivy vine that had grown up and was hanging out from the tree. I sprinted back to the house for a shower. No break out yet, but we shall see.

A couple years ago I was hunting in eastern Ohio and heard a gobbler sounding off in January.

alot of people find this hard to believe...and so did i, but i think it was my first year hunting. it was late in rifle season (early-mid December) a good bit of snow on the ground...we were sitting there watching a bench..we could hear a hen turkey yappin her head off all morning. as they got closer we started to hear a gobbler sounding off with her. sure enough she walked down the bench we were watching yelping and talking the whole time and he was in tow....full strut and going nuts...it was a neat sight in 6 inches of snow!! i'll never forget that

things should quiet down soon...all depends on what the birds decide...im still concerned i havent seen a peep yet and havent heard of anyone that has...and i been seeing lots of hens....i dont know whats goin on. nice dry spring...hatch should be great.....havent seen any fawns now that im thinking of it....and been seeing a decint number of deer....

The birds are still strutting on my buddies river bottom property! Last year, on the same property, they were strutting one morning in JULY along the edge of a beanfield!

We had 'em come int our set a couple of Thanksgivings ago.....gobblin their heads off (65 turkeys, total). I was just wondering how long they'll be in "mate" mode, this Summer. They're still going nuts, here, gobblin'.
