Red Dot Scope?
#1
Anyone use one? Advantages? Disadvantages?
Considering getting a new sight for my bow this year and the gear guide on Cabelas said they could be a good option for people with glasses who would also like to eliminate a peep.
Input much appreciated. Thanks!

I have never used one myself, but I know HHA makes a pretty good one (so I've heard it is pretty good).
Then again, I know a lot of people who shoot with glasses...no need to switch to a Red Dot if you like your current sight.

Fieldmouse. Any you recommend I take a look at? Also, how do they work for different yardages? Can you adjust on the scope or do you sight the dot in on one yardage (one pin methodology) and compensate from there? Thanks!

I can't reccomend one. Mine was expesive because I bought it years ago from pollington. For different yardage, your correct. It's the one pin theory. I use to have multiple pins on my bow but now that I used the scope, I would only go back to single pin. It's easier to do.

Fieldmouse, one last question. Does your sight add a lot of weight to your bow? I called the pro shop today and the manager said we could put one on when they changed the strings on my bow but he'd have to order a bracket and it will add almost 2 pounds to my bow! But when I check Cabela's site, they have a Barska red dot and bracket that weighs less than half a pound. Weird. Perhaps they are trying to add a gun scope to a bow with a unique mount. I'll see when I go in.
