I hope by now these guys have you straightened out about your 40 yard fantansies and what to expect at that range, now that aside lets answer your question of a new bow rig or a new blind.

Unless you truly do have an old out dated rig which wouldn't even compare to most of todays rigs then I wouldn't worry about it. IF you do a lot of turkey hunting them buy the DB blind, I promise it will be one of THE best investments you ever make for the Spring. However, if the DB blind if for deer hunting then I would strongly suggest you save the money and spend it on other gear which would be a LOT more effectiveagainstwhitetail than ANY pop-up blind will be. Deer do NOT like blinds and the odds of spooking and educating them are FAR easier when hunting from a blind. I can't stress the importance of a properly located elevated stand over ANY ground location.

PERSONALLY, I would buy a new bow and then buy the blind after deer season. Not that there is anything wrong with your bow because it will still down game cleanly but I think you could get ALOT better. But we can't make the decision for you. Go shoot a few high end bows and see how much of a difference there is. Last year I was shooting a 2006 Browning F5 Tornado. A $350 bow, don't get me wrong, it killed deer and was effective but after shooting some other bows recently, there was no comparison. As I said though, do as you wish, it's your money.

With a working condition05 model bow, I would never suggest getting a new one, unless you absolutely hated the bow.Not oa fan of blinds, but I'd get that or other gear over a new bow in your case.

40 yards is a long way to be shooting. You lose alot of energy past 30.
