Long range second shot?

I've taken follow-up shots at deer that were still on their feet before. Unfortunately, I'm usually shaking, hyperventilating and practically jumping out of the treestand at that point, so I invariably miss on any secondary shooting. LOL
I'd probably be better off just throwing my bow at them.

I have personally never had this opportunity happen to me, but if it did happen, arrows are flying till i have no more or the animal is gone. Once the animal is hit, what harm could it do, more hits, more bleeding, quicker death.
This exact situation happened last year to my buddy. He shot an 8 point at dark at 20 yards, knew he hit itfatally butwasnt sure where he hit it, thought it was a good one, but the deer only bounded off 20 more yards. He drew back, took aim where he thought he needed to be, stuck another arrow in him. Hit him again, animal bounded off another 20 yards and he shot again, missinghim this time. He got the animal, didnt need the 2 follow ups, but it didnt hurt.

We do it to ducks all the time. Deer....can't see how it would be any different. I have spined a deer with an arrow before and put another in her just because I could see her struggling and after about 30 sec of not slowing down any...it was the least I could do.

I hope Rob/PA won't mind me posting this......but if I'm not mistaken....he put FOUR arrows in his buck, lst year.
Like I've already stated.....I'll shoot as many as I can....until they stop moving.

Not only would I take a second shot at that range, if the deer were calm and broadside I would take a first shot at that range if I thought that was as close as the deer were coming and it was a deer I wanted to shoot.
