In search of a new target...

so far im impressed with my redhead bag target for 30 bucks. I shot the middle out of my last off brand 15 dollar bag, so i got this one and it looks twice as durable as my last one.
i just didnt want to fork out 60 bucks for a bag target when they all work basically the same. try doubling them up as well.

I like my glendel buck target field tip, but the life span of the core isn't great and the replacement cores are expensive when you shoot at them with broadheads! I wouldn't suggest them for broadhead use, but for just field tips they would last quite a while.

I've had the same ProStop Mag target for 2 years now going on3,and it's holding up pretty well. I started shooting through itearly last year. When I took it down and cut a slit in the top of it to rearrange the stuffing, I discovered the secret ofit's guts.
Insidethe front and back, close to the outside of thecover bag is aBURLAP bag with the poly insulation in the middle. It was doubled on both sides , but worn in the middle where I was shooting through it. I took out the front burlap bag and folded it to get rid of the worn part and stuffed it back in. I did the same for the one on the back. Jumped on it a couple times and It's back to stopping arrows again. I even got a burlap bag to add to it next time it needs fixed. The burlap really makes a difference in the life of this target.

I just stuff plastic burlap bags with rags, old clothes, linen, stuff like that. Once one bag starts falling apart I drop it in another one. I'm talking about the sort of sack grass seed comes in. Never had an arrow pass thru yet & iys about all I shoot besides a 3D target. Only downside is the arrows start to hang if you dont fluff it up once in awhile.

I have an American Whitetail Inc. bag target that is huge, its got to be close to 3ft by 4ft. I bought it for $40 and havent had an arrow go threw yet. Ive looked on there web site and dont see one near as big or as cheap but I bought mine at Farm King.

Dan, I got one of those layered foam targets from BassPro, and I use my "dead" bag target directly behind it. I am NOT exaggerating when I tell you that foam target has over 10,000 shots into it. W/out the bag behind it though, they would go through but the combination is VERY good.

I also bought a Redhead delux bag target for like $30 and have been happy with it for the month and change I have had it. Nothing beats a bag for field points. Just can't leave it outside, or that bag will rot and you're out of luck.

How does it work with BH's?

I have three different targets and they are all hammered. One is a 3-D buck that needs to be replaced. One is a Morrell's Yellow Jacket Block. It will soon be replaced with another of the same. The third is a Morrell's Eternity Bag. It didn't last an eternity but like the Yellowjacket block it has taken a tremendous pounding. Thousands of arrows have been shot into each of them. The bag target just got a new cover from Morrell's and I expect it to last for thousands more shots. Morrell's is a company that once resolved a problem for me with EXCELLENT customer service. Because of that and the quality of the products they sell I am a customer for life.
