Check to make sure everything is tight and still tuned. Sounds like something has gone out of tune, and that could happen for a multitude of reasons. Check cam timing, tiller and shoot through paper after you make sure everything is tight. And yes, it is possible your strings are gone. They may be letting go and have stretched a great deal.....Just check everything out first. 3 years isn't all that long....depending on how much you shoot.

The string probably isn't the problem although at 3 years it may need replaced?
I'd check everything else out first.

It could be the string, look for a broken strand or two. After three years I doubt the string is stretching suddenly. Also look on the cable(s). If a strand is broken the string can start "slipping" as you shoot.

Sounds like something came out of tune, could be:
- string
- cable(s)
- rest
- sight (might be loose)
- knock point (which would move if string is broken)

If you know the measurements of the bow, check them, a-a, brace height etc.
