I said 5, that is what I had been averaging before last year. My wife got sick in Oct. so that slowed my hunting some. Hopefully things will work out better this year and I can make up for it.

I plan on taking at least 3 or 4 does, and in Illinois you are only allowed two antlered deer per year. Hopefuly Ill get two with my bow, has to be over 150" though. Thats just my own personal restriction.

I said 3. 2 does, 1 buck. I COULD shoot realistically 5+ does every year, but I just simply won't eat that many. In fact, 3 is pushing the issue.

11 with the bow and 21 with gun last year....during the season anyway...hate to think how many including night shoots on damage permits.

tx....I'm optimistic I'll take a buck, too.....but it'll be a secondary target opportunity if I do. I'm actually targeting EVERY doe without a fawn in tow......EVERY hunt.
For you guys that know me.....I know you won't take this the wrong way.....but I hope I don't get burned out skinning deer, this year. The reason I say that is.....I know guys who won't kill a deer, sometimes....because they dread the process afterwards. I see it as part of the hunt.....but I've never done a whole lot of it in a season (obviously).
If I can get my son REALLY enthusiastic ......I'd let him take 'em all. I'd like to get him doing his own butchering (quartering) too. I think I'm going to hunt less.....but take MORE deer.
