Info. on taking armed forces members hunting....
ONE thing I/WE can do to show my/OUR appreciation for our armed services members.....is to host one for a couple of days of hunting.
Does anyone know of an organization that promotes this type of thing?
Thanks.

If I knew of a way to take a service member hunting....I'd do it in a minute.
I have a neighbor who is a service member (his dad planted "our" foodplot). he took a bird on opening day with the shotgun. Maybe I can just check with him and see if any of his friends want to come "home" with him and hunt. I'd even pony up for the license.

Jeff,
Any particular branch of service you're looking for? You're nottoo far from a huge Navy and Marine Corps population. If you do decide to pursue it, be careful how you put the word out. You could find yourself flooded in a flash.
I missed the entire deer season quite a few years being stationed onships. Back then I'd have jumped at the chance to drive from Norfolk, VA where I was to where you're at.

Jeff - FYI, If they're active duty, and have leave papers they can get a resident lisencse in any state.
"Almost" any state. My actual home state of Missouri doesn't allow that. Only active duty Military stationed in Missouri can get a resident license. Jerks. Last year I paid $150.00 for a deer tag

Jeff, and anyone else who is considering this;
I admire what you're thinking about doing, and I do have one idea. I have multiple points of contact at Fort McCready, near Fort Jackson, SC. That's where Navy and Air ForceIA's (Individual Augmentees)go for training/outfitting prior to being sent to Iraq/Afghanistan/Kuwait, etc. for anywhere from six months over a year to augment the Army. They also return there after they complete their tour. I'd wager that a few of those men and women who hunt and return around the September/October timeframe would love to take you up on your offer. Some of them probably have a lot of resettling to do and no time to locate a place, scout or get set up. Many have been away for over a year. It would be one of many avenues to consider.
