Jeff, and anyone else who is considering this;
I admire what you're thinking about doing, and I do have one idea. I have multiple points of contact at Fort McCready, near Fort Jackson, SC. That's where Navy and Air ForceIA's (Individual Augmentees)go for training/outfitting prior to being sent to Iraq/Afghanistan/Kuwait, etc. for anywhere from six months over a year to augment the Army. They also return there after they complete their tour. I'd wager that a few of those men and women who hunt and return around the September/October timeframe would love to take you up on your offer. Some of them probably have a lot of resettling to do and no time to locate a place, scout or get set up. Many have been away for over a year. It would be one of many avenues to consider.
