Is my bow too slow or am I just an Idiot?

This will work until you get to 7 yards and under. In this case you must aim HIGH, not low.

I shoot a 60# Darton single cam, 29" Easton 2216s & 3 Blade 125 gr. Rocky Montain Ironheads.
My 1st pin is dead on at 25 yards & about 1" high at 10.
If you just keep backing up you will find where 10 & your Maximum yardage is the same. Most are between 20 to 30 yards unless your shooting super fast & super light arrows.
Not my idea of a good combination for Bowhunting.
I never worry about being to slow-it's just more forgiving.

WOAH! Hold on! Time out!!!
You had to use sights to hit a target at 2yards???
We had a target, two 3D tournaments ago......set at 2 yds. The above statement is SPOT-ON. I shot my 50 yd pin.

I have my pins at 20, 30, 40, 50, & 60 and at 10 yards it is only slightly higher than at 20. I only shot it once or twice at that range. I like to practice at the longer ranges because I figure if it is within 20 the difference is not going to matter one bit. Out here I usually average about a 30 yard shot. Last year was 35 on the buck and 40 on a doe. The year before was 12 yards and I used my 20 yard pin and drilled him.

I don't remember what pins you would use, but it's something like this...for a shot at 5 yds. you would use your 40 yd. pin...for 10 yds. you would use your 50 yd pin.
This is because your arrow is still rising when it hits the target.
Something to that affect, i'm sure someone on here could tell you for sure.
