Is my bow too slow or am I just an Idiot?

Is my bow too slow or am I just an Idiot?
I've been trying to sight in my bow and wanted to set the pins at 20,30,40. Everyone I've talk to says 20yardsfor the first pin would be fine because your bow is fast enough. Well, when I get the 20 yard pin set and then move up to 15 yards I'm shooting high and even higher at 10. Now it's not like I'm missing the target but it above the bullseye. Is this suppose to happen and you just adjust for it or what? My Bowtech Tomkat is set at 58lbs. with at 27" draw length.

I also shoot 58 lbs but with an inch longer draw and I've never had a bow shoot the same at 20 and 15 yards. Even when I shot 290 fps for 3-D there was always a slight difference. Maybe only an inch but still enough to compensate when aiming. You didn't mention how heavy your arrow is or how fast your shooting or how high your hitting so its hard to say if what you describe is out of the ordinary. The slower your bow is the greater the difference will be from 20 to 15 yards.

C-WOODS-SHOOT,
Sorry my arrows are 331 grains and I'm shooting probably around 260 f.p.s. As far as how high I'm hitting I'd say around 2inches at max. I guess that's common, like TeamWhitetail365 said just aim an inch or solow. Thanks.

You have to remember that an arrow doesn't travel in a straight line to the target. It arches on the way there, so the closer you are to the target, the higher you're going to hit. The faster the bow, the less arch in the trajectory.
As has been mentioned, aim a little low.

If you are hitting high at 10 yards, that is normal and if you have a deer at 10 yards that you are aiming down on,you want to hit a little high so you catch both lungs so you should just aim for the same spot as you do for 20 yards.Assuming you shoot for center lung as I do.
