A Bow for a 7 year old?
#1
I promised my son I would get him a "real" Bow for his birthday and wanted to get a few opinions on the topic. I want one that he can kill a dear with in a few years andthe 2007 Fred Bear ODYSSEY II seems to be just what I was looking for. Any input will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

I have looked at a bunch also. My 7 year old daughter has been on me for awhile to get a new compound bow. She has been shooting a recurve for the last 2 years when I break out the targets. I have been looking at the a ton of different bows. What I have decided to do is pick the 2 or 3 that I like. I will be taking her next week to see each and let her decide which one she wants. I figured that if I pick one she won't like it and won't use it as much as if she got to pick it herself

Check out Stacey Archery out of Idaho. They make probably the nicest youth bow I've seen.

We got our boy a Browning Micro Midas when he was 7. He is 11 now and still shoots it.
10" of draw adjustment and we adjusted it down to 20# to start and it is a t 35# now with a little more adjustment to go.
Nice bow and not very expensive.

you could get the parker buckshot in 20-30 # then when he grows out of it you can send it back to parker with 50$ and they will put 30-40# limbs on it (you can also get 40-50#)its called the grow up with parker program limbs)http://www.parkerbows.com/pb/2007/growup.html http://www.parkerbows.com/pb/2007/compounds.html?action=detail&detailsku=1019

That is a great idea deerslayer. I didn't know that Parker had that program. That makes it real easy since my daughter is very young. I also have another daughter that will be using the bow in a few years so that might work out perfectly.
