For all you serious 3D shooters out there...

I'm setting up a bow that I will be using for 3D. I ordered a Ross Cardiac this evening, and it should be here mid March. Anyway, I really want this thing smokin and set up PERFECTLY right, with all the right equipment. Problem is, every bow I have ever set up was for hunting purposes. Yes, I know hunting equipment works VERY well for 3D, but I'm looking to turn it up a notch. I gotta buckeye to whoop at the smack down this June...
I'm prolly gonna put a Drop Zone rest on, the micro adjust variety....but then I'm kinda stuck.....I don't know what to use for sights and such...
So anyway, are there some equipment that is more suited for 3D? What would you suggest and why?
Yeah, I know we get quite a few of these type threads...But setting up a bow for 3D is pretty new to me.....I'm open to suggestions.
Oh, and I already know that I will be shooting Carbon Express Maxima 3D Selects...350's..

Go with the Sword micro 3rd plane or the Spot hogg hogg it. There aren't any better pin sights than those two. Also take a look at Copper Johns new competition sight hitting the shelves later this month. Stabs are more of a personal feel thing.

Oh yea, I'm not a serious 3d shooter by any means but I read about what they like.

Everyone that answers this post is prolly gonna lie because they have to shoot against you at the get together...but I'm on your side.

I wouldn't go with the Drop Zone.I would use a spring steel style rest if strictly 3-d is the purpose.Like the one Trophy Taker has or a Brite site Pro Tuner.I love the Pro Tuner.
There are some great sights. If you are wanting to stay in the pin class, take a look at the Extreme Snyper,Spot-Hogg,Hog it or some of the newer pin sights from Sure-Loc.
Arrows, hard to go against the trusted old ACC's with parabolic glue in points with 2" Flex Fletch vanes. Many will recommend fat shafts for line cutting but I never saw an increase in points with fat shafts but did see an increase with ACC's.
I did have a low energy setup and fat shaftsin outdoor conditions don't work well together.
Maybe looking into some good hand held releases might be a plus.Carter makes some excellent releases.I use a Fits Me Too,if you have small hands, this is a great release. If not,the Just B Cuzis awesome but I REALLY like the new Evolution.Back tension without rotation,AWESOME.
Just ones opinion.

How about the $19.99 Tru-Glo special at Wal*Mart.
I hear most of the pros just shoot right off the shelf, no rest at all.
Forget a peep, just try and look around it.
Get the heaviest stabalizer you can, one that adds at least two pounds to the bow.

Hey, I got to do something to up my odds here!

I would stay away from the sure loc lethal weapons as you cannot get anything near zero pin gap.
I like the looks of the new Copper John DeadNutz 2 competition seriesmicro adjusts sights.
Spott Hogg Hogg-Itis OK, I just don't dig it anymore.

If I were trying to get "serious" a 33" a-a bow would not be my first choice.
I wouldn't go below 38" for serious 3-d with a 7" plus brace.

Sight, Viper Archery Products, Predatro PRO-MT. When researching sights, it's the best I could find bar none. BUT, it depends on what you want out of your bow and what class you wish to shoot. I also own a Toxonic with a Boss 4X Scope and Super Peep.
Rest, whichever, so many good ones and some of my best scores came off a Bodoodle Pro 500 and Pro Lite, now I shoot a TT Pronghorn. Impressed.
