Default Uplifting hunting story.

A friend of mine was hunting on a some private land the other day and got in before first light.

At about 20 minutes after day break he spotted a young doe running towards him that looked exhausted and had the look of "fear" in her eyes.

At that same moment a pack of coyotes started moving in, apparently there were about 12 of them.

My buddy said it looked like the doe had been running for her life all night.

Since my buddy all ready had doe meat in the freezer he decided to help this one live and put his sites on the first coyote and pulled the trigger. He managed to take another coyote after that.

I'm sure that deer didn't ever expect a hunter to SAVE her life.

Deer meat or no dear meat if I had a pack of yotes in front of me I would blast away as well. Who do they think they are picking on a little old doe like that!!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I knew a guy who had that happen during turkey season, a hen was being chased by to coyotes and he took out both of them, and ended up shooting a tom a couple of hours later.

Excellent job on your friends part, this is something many non-hunters have a hard time understanding, I saw a video of a hunter freeing a button buck from a barbwire fence, when my wife saw this she said you guys just don't make sense! I keep trying to explain to her that we do not hunt out of hate, we love/respect our prey and will do things to help them out if we can. I just wish a HUGE buck would do me a favor and give me a 10 yard broadside out of kindness and respect for me! LOL
