Normally, I decribe a deer rack by the Score Class. For example, it's a 120 or 150 class buck.

We do it a bit different from the choices described. If the deer is a 5x5 or a 4x4 it is just called a 4 or 5 pointer assuming both sides are even. If the deer is uneven such as a 6x5 then we say 6x5 and not 11 pointer. When i hear people talk bout a 6 point on here i assume it is 3 on each side because that is how most americans call their bucks.

DITTO here.

Same for me most of the time. I also add in the deers age ormy guess to its age as well as how heavy and talltheantlers are. I should just take a picture to show people. Be a lot easier. Someone would probably say I used photoshop to make it look bigger. I'd just have to explain that it's alot easier for me to get a big deer than try to figure out how to use a computer program.

My buddies and i would call it a 10 point assuming it was a 5x5. If it was a 6x4 we would call it that. Also if there are stickers, which we dont see often, we would say a 8 point or 10 point with x amount of stickers.

I use both. I usually describe a deer as a mainframe X with X# of stickers. Plus give the gross score.
if somebody wants that much detail I'll show them a picture!

now, if i were to shoot a big one, i would probably say # point with a ##" inside spread. i have never taken a buck big enough to care about the spread

Dan, that is exactly how I describe deer. When I talk to people about the size of the deer I see, they always want as much detail as they can get. Those are the kind of people I associate with. I'll even throw in a spread, mass and tine length measurement as well.[:-]

I admit...... I'm an antler addict!![8D]
