Sportsman ....Do You Vote??

Hey all,

Most of you have read the political posts going on around here lately. My question is ... do you vote, and if you don't, will you be willing to vote this coming election?

It is of major importance, as we now have a liberal congress, and a soon to be liberal president[:'(]. (I hope I am wrong!!!)

The purpose of this post is so people realize how important it is that they do .... if they love their God given rights. As it becomes essential to us, we then will be able to convey that to all those around us. We would become a mighty force!!!! By one, we can increase exponentially!!

Yes, I vote Republican because it is the best for my way of belief.

I wish there was a party that believed in no foreign aid to other countries, a strong military, our borders secured, low taxes, no welfare to losers that scam the system, and concealed carry permits except for felons and thementally ill.

Am I asking for too much?:D

How about another option for voting? "I vote when there is actually a candidate worth voting for." That would be my choice.

Get educated and don't take that cop out. After that if you still think that's the case, get involved and run yourself. We have an excellent system and canadates out thre but we have a very lazy electric.

Well after 6 years of college, 16 years in the military, several years working in corrections and the past 6 as atherapist, I think I am educated to some things related to folks and such. I cast my vote for candidates that have many issues that I support and will not simply vote to say that I voted. I have voted in the past and will likely vote again, but not just to get a sticker. As soon as we cut the difference between the liberal crud and conservative crud and actually come up with a more moderate party for the people, I will pick and choose how I vote.
By the way, thanks for a good thread and delightful debate. :D

I always felt it was a privilege and a responsability to vote. It was a big deal in my house -- growing up it was just me, my Dad, and my Grandmother. He wanted me to realize I had choices in life and one of his lessons was the choice of who I wanted representing me in government. My Grandmother always voted and encourage me to vote because she said she could remember a time when women were discouraged from voting because they weren't "smart" enough to be making a decision like that (if you can believe that!!). Today I wouldn't dream of not voting -- even in a school board election. And that is one of the arguments hubby and I get in to -- I see it as a big deal and he doesn't. I figure my candidate might get beat but it won't be because I did not have my say.

EXACTLY!! We never voted straight party ... it was always vote for the person no matter what ticket he/she is running on. But there are the dyed in the wool party people who don't even consider the candidate they just hit republican or democrate. To me that is more senseless than not voting at all!!

I vote.

If you don't vote, don't complain about our elected officials. Not one single party or candidate carries the same values or beliefs that you have. Vote for the person or party that shares your core beliefs. That's my opinion.

I vote Republican.

Don't get me started. My number one thing I'd do would be cut the federal govement by 2/3rds and give the rights back where it belongs to the states and you have way more influence. The founding fathers had it right with capitolism and that designed was further pushed by having states compete for their citizens. If the citizens get ticked off they fiqured they would vote with their feet. The feds are screwing this up everyday.

If Al Gore had Won in 2000

We would not have 3000+ dead soldiers in Iraq

We would have eletric cars

Global warming would be solved

Well the way I look at it is more towards our hunting and second amendment rights. In that instance, yes she would be much more worse. I'm not a fan of her agenda. If the troops were to be taken our of Iraq, a new dictator would rise, and the troops sacrifice would be for nothing(lets not get into we shouldnt be there to begin w/).I'm not saying that W is the greatest president, but I would prefer him over Hillary any day of the week.
