I see your wink, but I believe that mature deer, buck or doe, have a sense that tells them that something is just not right here.

I am hoping he will be back through next year, he will be bigger was not exactly what I wanted anyway.Thanks for the opinions an the weather lesson.

From what I have heard, when their hair stands up it is a strong sign that the dominant buck showed up. I doubt it is from scent.

Thank you,I have never seen a deer bristle the hair up on his back when he smells something he didnt like, I believe that more than I would think he smelled me. I had on scent lock an adoeshock that Ihad got about a week earlier off of a doe that was starting to show signs of going in rut hanging on a limb next to me.
