This, coming from a guy who thinks that because you have a picture of your deer near a picture of your loved ones means that you think of the deer as human. What planet are you from? Do you think that anyone can take you seriously, after comments like that? As Germ said... Grow up.

Atlas that is a hell of a point, but if they really do not know the facts they should keep quite. Now they are just spreading lies, plain and simple. I had it happen to me at the club, at least the person ask me, kind of[&:].

alright here I go: I am a victim of this and I'm not going to lie about it. I was raised in the Bill Jordan, Primos era. That's what I was brought up on. I learned how to hunt through these videos. It may be sad that's the way I learned to hunt, but I was kind of on my own. My brother helped me a little and my dad took me out once in a while, but everything I learned that based my knowledge on hunting mostly came from these videos. From the first time I watched Monster Bucks of North America (the first monster bucks video) when I was about 5 I've always wanted to shoot deer with huge racks. I can't explain it, it's an addiction. I know there are a lot of people who hunt for any deer that will walk through the woods to them, and I have absolutely no problem with that. Do I wish more people would have my views on trophy hunting? Yeah that's only natural because if I want to kill deer with bigger racks other people have to want that too in order to manage an area to produce these types of genetics. Now here's the difference. I never force my views on anybody. I want to kill deer with big racks, that's just me. But if other guys don't care what they shoot, that's their deal. That's how they hunt and there's nothing wrong with that. IMO if you're in the woods having a great time enjoying the spirit of the outdoors, that's awesome. People are different. I like shooting deer with big racks, that's what I like. If another guy likes shooting any deer, that's great too. But it's ok to be different. It's ok for one person to shoot whatever is walking through the woods at him be it a monster or a small doe and anything in between. Just as it's ok for me to want to hunt deer with monster racks. I kill my fair share of does each year as well, and yeah I hunt for meat too. I'm a college kid, so butchering deer myself provides me with plenty of almost free food for my year at school saving me money. I hunt for a big buck until mid december, then once muzzleloader rolls around I start shooting does for meat. Because of how I am, I won't shoot a smaller buck just because I'd like to see him bigger next year. But I do hunt for meat. I find myself laying on both sides of the fence here because a lot of times you get stuck between guys who either "meat hunt" or "trophy hunt". I guess I would consider myself as doing both. Either way, no matter how you like to hunt, if you love the outdoors and are passionate about hunting, that's AWESOME! I totally respect almost, and yeah I said almost all deer hunters. They are the finest people in the world as far as I am concerned!

people who are jealous are the people that blow at hunting in my eyes...people that cant kill anything maybe...

I skimmed through this post and found a couple things to comment on.

I've seen Greg H's posts on here. Many time he has pics of a deer he is after or watching. He probably carries a camera when hunting and scouting. ( I like seeing his photos)

He's the kind of guy that takes lots of pictures and tries to learn what he can about a paticular buck or all bucks for that matter. He has a passion about hunting and big bucks and carries a little of that with him at work.

There's nothing wrong with having a picture or two or three at your work station. ( I have pics of my moose at mine) That's what he likes. Some guys like Nascar and have Nascar stuff at their work station. Some have a Hot Rod they worked on and have a pic of it at their's.

People are into different things. I don't see aproblem with a photo of a deer beside the photo of a wife, girlfriend, son, daughter or what have you.

I'd think that after studying a certain buck and spending all that time until I laid the smack down on him, I'd have a pic of him hanging up at my work station also.

Greg H. takes a lot of photos and probably likes hang a few up once in a while. More power to him.

For a coworker, to constantly make remarks about it after 3 years is a little much. The guy is obviously jealous and would probably have pics hanging up if his son got the buck.

I just don't see a big deal about someone having a pic of a buck beside a pic of his girl friend and son. I don't see Greg doing it to spite the coworker.

People need to grow up!

I didn't mean that part about forcing views on you by any means. Sorry if you got that impression. I was specifically thinking of another resent thread where(can't remember who) started out by saying he couldn't believe anyone would shoot a deer under 130 inches. You know, how could you etc etc etc. He also listed a bunch of our long standing members and wanted to know a good reason for them doing it. He's one of a small group that apply the same tactics. I didn't mean you at all. Sorry bout that.

And JB... man you're off base a bit boy about Greg's picture.

I don't see your point...........this thread is about jealousy and you brought them into it. Clearly you viewed them as jealous. All I said is they could be the coolest guys ever and some jerk could have just told them that story and they were discussing it with no malice intended..........assuming they had other motives without more details is no better or worse then them assuming you did what the story alleged without more details.




If it sticks in your memory..........it is important to you.......for one reason or another.

From the story you tell it kinda sounds like he just doesn't like you. Now picture your son missing a deer and some guy you can't stand shoots it............are you gonna be happy?? I doubt it. This guy handles himself poorly, no question...........but it doesn't exactly sound like you two are best friends either. Dislike/anger is not the same as jealousy.

That is only true if they were spreading the rumor around the bar or telling a bunch of other people just out of spite. From the story Greg told it was 2 guys at a bar discussing a story (amoung themselves) about a guy they heard did something wrong. Is that REALLY so horrifying??? If your buddy sits down with you to have a couple pops and says he heard a guy down the road clipped a deer at night would you jump up and run away because you didn't know if it was 100% true??.............or is it quite possible that you would stay in your seat and discuss it with your buddy like the 100 other things you will talk about that night. Does that make you a jealous person?



People like to knock others down a peg...........it's easier then lifting themselves up I guess. Like I have already said...........anyone who is surprised that jealousy exists in deer hunting has never been successful at anything else..........because if they were they would know by now it has nothing to do with deer.


I still don't understand that one.............I didn't say anything at all about his deer, in fact I was asking because I suspected it was just petty jealousy because if not I would have heard about something substantial by now and I hadn't. The other info I posted was first hand from someone who lives in that county...........which oddly enough got blasted from other people who had no inside information at all and live 2 states away. I am still puzzled about the response that thread got from everyone.
