New year hunting resolutions
#22
Well, since I just got done with paypal for a used recurve, my resolution is to get proficient enough to hunt with it next year. And hopefully to kill a deer and a hog with it next season.

1) Invest in a ground blind to take my kids hunting more often.
2) Spend more time scouting.
3) Plant food plots on my leases.
4) Lose weight where I won't hurt as much after hunting.

I took my 2 youngest daughters one thanksgiving morning. I stood by a tree and sat one by each leg in big thick camo coats that they could sit on and keep warm on the cool Nov. morning. I had this area brused in thick on both sides so I could see something comming from either direction. Well like clock work about 7:30 a doe comes up the trail heading home. I see her draw she comes into view and you guessed it I spined her. She falls over in front of them at 10 yards. I thinking ok not what I had planned. Ofcourse the doe is flopping around so I whisperI have to shoot her again turn away if your want to. I put one thru the lungs look down and see a tear comming down the older ones face. The one I call Killer seems unphazed. About this time I hear a grunt and see a buck comming up the trail. He stops looking at the doe that is in front of us trying to figure out whats going on. The buck staring at the doe comes inbetween us and the doe at about 3 yards from us. They were squeezing the hell out of my leg, the doe was still flopping around, and the buck wasn't moving. After several minutes I yelled at the buck, he damn near ran us over getting out of DodgeI shoot the doe again she looks like a pin coushion but finally expires. I'm gutting her and the oldest one is all red eyed and Killer says " Can we go to Mcdonalds when your done".

Never told anyone that before..........her only statement on the way to the truck was "I just didn't want you to kill such a beautiful animal" I couldn't think of a reply to that.
She eats venison as much as anyone and always has...........like germ's wife though the killing part is better left a mystery.
