Default Video camera help

Hello everyone, i was wondering if anyone had any advice. I can't decide between the Canon GL2 and the XL1. Anybody have any input? I don't want to spend 3500 on the xl2.I know this thread probably belongs in the photography forum but it's getting nowhere over there. Thanks.

I would think the GL2 would be sufficient.

You may want to post this at texasbowhunter.com. They have a lot of guys that video on there.

I have used a GL2 alot and really like them. I have never used a XL1 though. I now use a Sony PD170 and like it the best. It is by far the best in low light.

The only major difference between the GL2 and the Sony is that the sony has a 12X optical zoom where the Canon has a 20X. The 12X does just fine for me since we video bow hunting only.
