My nephew in NY. But no one cares about the hunt or story. They wan to critique the photo or the shot selection. I know one member that shot a great bear last year but choose not to play the game of finger pointing here. I know of many kills that go unreported as they just don't want to deal with the bull crap here. If you think I'm wrong, you prove my point. I have 2 GB of photos on my laptop. A whole lot of hunting that could have been shared if it weren't for the site sponsored ethics police.

The crowning blow that ended our picture posting was a mechanical test that ended with a dead deer within site of myself and Len. The arrow passed through and opened on an ear. Did anyone want to hear the where fores and whys. NOPE, they immediately jumped on the bandwagon of poor shot selection yada yada yada on a deer that lost both lungs and died within 50 yards. Len test all sorts of broadheads. His quiver usually has 3 or 4 different varieties in it.Does anyone want to hear the real field results, nope, they want to critique shot selection and not dead deer. They prefer to expound on all they've learned about hunting in the past couple years. Am I bitter. NOPE, I find it quite stupid really. There is so much knowledge lost by thinking ME, Myself and I. Thump my chest and call me great white hunter. There's always someone that makes you a rookie, no matter who you are, but he's not on this site.

Geez, I remember those posts that you are referring to and the responses that you got. I do remember feeling pretty jealous that you guys have such a sweet place to hunt but I never doubted your ablility, legality, or the appropriateness of the photos.

You can't let the small minds, oversize egos, get to you. I know it's easier said than done but I figure the internet is a lot like life. Out of the manyhundreds of people that I am aquainted with there are only maybe half a dozen who's opinions I really care about. I know that I don't BS (unless I let you know it ) and my friends know I don't BS. If the masses have a different opinion it just proves the old adage "the masses are a$$es".

BTW...Thanks for the pics.

Dave:

Actually my son (now 15) has shotabout 20 deer with a bow. So far this year he's shot 5 with a bow. His first4 times out resulted in 4 successes, then reality hit him when he came away empty a few times.

One day I shot 5, but limit myself anymore to 2. Gutting dragging, processing and finding homes for more than 2 a day is just too tough at my age. What many don't understand is the number of deer we can take here in Maryland. There are even locals who don't understand why I shoot so many. There are many reasons. First, we can do it legally and ethically. Then there are needy families that I supply with meat. The property owners let me hunt because they want the deer numbers reduced. Deer management is another reason.

In fact, I've taken out 2 bucks lately that needed culling. One had a horrific rack and was 5-6 years old. The other was a spike that was 8 years old. Then, of course, was this "Weird deer" that I just took out of the gene pool. This was not intentionaldeer managementbut the results were good. On the one property that I hunt (20 acres surrounded by State Park) there are several more old spikes and a few piebalds that we want to cull.

Thank you, Dave, for helping to explain the problem we have with sharing pictures and information. It is a shame we have to limit our communication/expertise/test results. A lot of people could really benefit from the information we collect.

And the last two replies prove my point. You're not paying attention to anything but what you're saying evidently. As far as the remark about shooting that far back, typical. These two buck dropped and died 75 yards from the stand within feet of each other. You would rather point out a perceived flaw in a perfect shot than learn anything. You'd rather tell a newbie how great he is and how vast his knowledge, because he's a groupie. That's fine, but this site suffers for that type of action perpetuated by moderators even. "I'm in power and I say what's valid". That's why we don't post pictures or give details, because the "experts" simply don't give a darn and will belittle you if you try.
What the hell you whining about now? Not a single person belittled any of these photos and mobowhuntr was making a jest, something you obviously didn't get. I think your just one of those guys that like to think he's being picked on so it gives you an identity. Oh look at me, the nonmod, the man's pushing me down, I don't give advice anymore because no one listens, I'm on the top of the list, the mods have the power, "experts"....get over yourself. Why do you come here at all then?

LEN, Great Photos, great hunts, great advice, Keep up the fantastic work and don't ever go away, your respected, your looked to and appreciated.

Kinda like the pot calling the kettle black. You sound like a big cry baby, the kid on the playground that looks for an excuse to grab all his toys and run home crying for attention. As a matter of fact you like doing it so much that you are doing it for someone else so you can get more attention. Grow up.

Well said!!! David, you seem to like to be the ethics police yourselfand enjoy putting other people down, what goes around comes around you old crotchety one. Here you are running your mouth about Hoytgirl when she got picked for Hoyts' photo of the week.

BTW Len, I had a miniature pincher once that got injured somehow; we don't know how. It's testicles actually went up into its body. Maybe squeezed by a car tire, kicked by someone, injured by another animal?? We let it out on its' dog run and 20 minutes later it was hurt. Maybe this deer had a sharp kick in the groin by another deer, jumped a fence wrong. who knows? BTW, nice pics.
