I am teaching my wife as she has only bowhunted a year and a half. I am teaching myself always too(learning) and I have been bowhunting for 30 years.

My 11 year old daughter. She has been sitting in a stand with me for the last 3 years just watching and learning. This is her first year to get to bow hunt and she took her first deer last Saturday. A perfect heart shot at 20 yards. I have been her teacher in the woods. But my dad taught her how to shoot the bow. We were lucky enough to have him out at camp with us last weekend. He was thrilled to be able to be there when she got her first deer. I have a killer on my hands!

I've been teaching my three oldest children this year. In fact that is how I've spent most of my availble hunting time. Oldest son is ten, daughters are seven and five. Youngest will no doubt be into it, but he'll have to wait a little longer. He'll be two in Feb.

And my best friend "Buddy" (my Australian Cattle Dog).

My 7 year old daughter tags along and has a thousand questions which is cool. My wife started hunting this year with a gun but plan on taking her next fall bow.

my 36yr old brother, i have hunted since i was a kid, his first time out was last turkey season. I also take my 5 yr old nephew in the woods with me from time to time and on extreme occasions my daughter (turns 2 on dec 20th)I cant wait until they are old enough to start hunting too, if that is what they want.

my brother scares me the most, he is a civil engineer so he thinks he is intelligent enough not to have to be taught firearms safety, I ride his a$$ every chance i get (a little payback, i'm younger) book smarts do not equal common sense about gun safety.

ive wanted to teach my oldest daughter ., but she has not wanted to hunt .,my youngest has been bowhunting with me as long as she could walk with out tripping on the short grass.,lol.,i remember one year, i was bowhunting from the ground ., i had my youngest daughter mackenzie (macky) for short., i gave her the binos and said ok you let me know ., all of a sudden im hearing this deap breathing., i look over to her (and im still laughing today) and she is looking thru the binos at 2 bucks and breathing so hard and she was so excited., i said do you see something she goes to me ., shoot, dad shoot the big one., i had to hold in the laughter cause these bucks were still 100 plus yardsout there., so im teaching her and she has not bow unted as of yet but she is 2 for 2 with the gun.,
