Buck Growl??
I have never used one!
where I'm at the rest of the rut is overish
I'd ask for a deer tag...the most important step in hunting!!

I bought the buck growl. I think I bought it to late to really get the right responce out of it. Some people said they have had good luck with it. From what I understand the primos buck roar may sound a little better than the Growl. I think there are two things that are key to this product. Catching Bucks in just the right mood (crusing for/chasing does) and a good buck to doe ratio. But if you have a good number of (frustated)bucks in your area it may be worth a try?

Good Luck!

Tell them to buy you a true talker, you will get more use out of it.

I haven't tried the Primos but bought the MAD Growl call and it sucks, IMHO. If you blow too hard it sounds like a stupid duck or something. I've read the Primos is a better call and has a wheeze, which might even be more useful than a 'growl'. The Growl call doesn't seem much different than a lot of other deer grunt calls except its alot bulkier, hard plastic (noisy), and doesn't come with a lanyard. Of course it was alot cheaper than the Primos call. If I were you I'd ask for something more useful like some Xstatic clothing, new arrows, broadheads, boots, or just about anything else.

The buck roar works! Great call! Though I still use my true talker!

The Buck roar and Buck Growl both are gimmicks, you can make the same sounds with the Tru Talker.

I dont know if they filmed in a game farm or what, but one of the primos tapes had the most dominant bucks running at the wheese. They grunted a few times and got little attention, then they wheesed and the whole attitude of the deer changed,he wanted a fight!
