I will promise you that he doesn't fish the hard way. That is the fishing is where he uses our product and there is nothing basic about the way he fishes.
I have no intent of changing opinions of Tred. You think what you will.

Simply put, The "Barta Way", is his gimic. Just like Ted Nuggent has his gimics (Like his wife showing off her store bought utters)to keep people watching his show.

Ihave usedtrad. equiptment and have killed deer with it. When both trad. and compound hunters practice a lot, the compound wins hands down every time. To verify this, go to the NFAA website and look at the scores of the top trad. winner vs the top BHFS winner ( sight pins and release). My question is, when it comes to killing an animal, why would anyone want to make it harder? Does trad. equiptment wound and lose more animals than compound equiptment? What is more humane? If you want hard, why not hunt with a spear?

My two cents: He definitely has a talent for building and shooting primitive archery equipment, although I did see an episode where he couldn't judge distance well enough to shoot a fixed target at 30 yards! However, the man takes shots at deer that are at a full run, and that, to me, is unethical. We see the kill shots on TV, but what about the outtakes? How many deer has he wounded, only to run into the brush and keep going for miles until they bleed to death? (And aren't found...except by coyotes!). Save the "trickshots" for frisbees and ballons!

I haven't shot my recurve in nearly ten years but I'll take that bet. Shooting a recurve at 20 yards and hitting a pop can 9/10 times is nota feat worth bragging about.
Are'nt you like 20 yrs old? So you haven't shot your recurve since you were 10 years old, but some how you think you can hit a coke can 9/10 times at 20yds?
That is so laughable it's almost stupid.. Every trad archer on this forum immediately knew you were full of it when you posted that...
If in fact you can do that, well by gosh, you are one of the best trad shooters in the country.... You should have no problem then shooting a 280+ on a NFAA 300 round....

Believe what you want, it wasn't that difficult for me.I started shooting one when I was six. By the time I was 10 I could put a half dozen arrows into a baseball sized target at 20 yards.
Its not that difficult. That's just your traditional shooter elitism showing through, trying to make shooting a recurve seem like an impossible task for someone who hasn't done it before or who hasn't done it in awhile. You can think I'm full of it all you like, but it doesn't change the fact that I can shoot a recurve well, I just choose to shoot a compound now.

Now, getting back to Tred.
Did anyone see the Caribou episode they showed last night on OLN?
They repeatedly had Tred saying that he was only comfortable shooting at 15 - 20 yards with his long bow, but there were multiple instances where he took shots at running Caribou at 40+ yards.
I laughed and changed the channel.

Oh, I know trad equipment can be shot effectively at 20yds, I also KNOW FOR A FACT that you can not go dig out that recurve and put 6 arrows in a baseball at 20 yds... 6 out of 100 maybe.... lol....
The truth is there are very few people that can shoot groups like that CONSISTENTLY with barebow trad equipment. And those that can must constantly shoot and work on form and they are also world class shooters...Sure, I've shot groups at 25 yds that had all arrows touching, but that is not realistic of my abilities...
No trad elitism from me, heck my recurve is an old Hoyt Proline compound riser with Hoyt Olympic limbs.... That's about as compound as you can get without the wheels.. The original post that all this started from was basically stating that maintaining 20yd accuracy with a barebow recurve and a tricked out compound are like night and day.. In fact, they are entirely different disciplines.. You either recognize that or you don't.
