Montec sharpness
#2
They can only get so sharp because of the agle on the blades edge and the thickness of the blade.. Try the Strikers, very very sharp...
I have both and use both.. Have contacted G5 about several issues, no need to go into explanations though unless you really want to hear it..

demo, let me hear it. I nailed a deer at 32 yards the other day with a broadhead that would not shave hair but was close (G5). Got a complete pass through and dead deer after 40 yards. I went to Bass Pro today and got several sharpening stones to try and am having no luck. Is this particular broadhead OK to hunt with even if not razor sharp because I don't think you can get it there.

I answered your PM, so check your PM's... Oh, forgot to mention that G5 does make a stone specially to sharpen the Montecs.. But they I explained in the Pm they can only get so sharp due to the blade angle degree..

Highcotton, I have used Montec G5s for 4 years now. I have killed 4 deer and 3 hogs with them. I agree with you that they are not the sharpest broadhead out there.I have heard a lot of people have this problem. I would also suggest to look at the strikers. I read a review on them and they won with the most penetration. I am prolly going to switch to strikers or slick tricks next season. Try using a diamond stone to get them as sharp as you can. They seem to work for me even though they arent razor sharp.
