Go to your pro shop.

Tell them your price range.

Shoot every bow in that price range that you can, regardless of the brand.

Purchase the one that feels the best to you.

If you buy a Matthews, you will then be forced to buy the next new model that comes out about every other year.

If you buy a Mathews, you won't want to buy anything else, everyone that says different just can't afford one to begin with so they talk down on them. Go ahead, buy a loud and wrist breaking Hoyt, or maybe you want a Bowtech that has hadSO many problems with limbs explode under normal shooting conditions. I agree Mathews are a bit to expensive but well worth it in workmanship and customer service. And who cares if you shoot a Mathews or $299.00 bow, any more they areall so fast that it doesnt' really matter, it's all about feel and confidence in what your shooting.
