Default Stuck a big fat doe!!

Sunday my 10yr old was po`ed at me for not getting my butt out of bed to take him hunting that morning. Stayed out a little late the night before, anyway we decided to go to the farm for an evening hunt. Well, we were sitting there at about 4:00 when we heard what sounded like a herd of something running right at us. We didn`t know where the noise was coming from then out from behind us jumps a big doe and she stops at about 15yards. She looks at us, looks away so I start to draw she looks back at us so I stop mid-draw and my arrow falls off the rest. So here I am mid-draw, trying to hold still and trying to flick my arrow back up on my rest with my finger. She eventually looks the other way again and I get drawn and put it behind her shoulder and let her have it. She tucks her tail and takes off. I look at Derek and he and I are both shaking with big ol grins on our faces. We eventually get up to go look for the arrow, we didn`t find it or any blood. He said , I think you missed Dad. I said well you may be right, but I didn`t see how. I said lets track her through the leaves by her steps where she rustled the leaves just to make sure. Well, he takes off, I am just following, we get about 30 yards away and I see one drop of bright red blood. He takes it from there and follows this deer out to 120 yards and says there she is Dad. Man, it was awsome to have him there for my first bowkill and he tracked it. Heck, he was better than a dog! Just thought I would share.
