the best shot to take a deer is double lung it won't go far . As far as drop in its tracks you would have to spine it or thru the head both shots i don't recommend

I would never wanna take a shot to drop it in its tracks with a bow. Go for double lung it wont go far.

yea double lungs and heart is a bonus.

Heart is a good hit too, but a risky place to aim because of how low it is, and how well protected by the shoulder bone.

A wound to any major organ in the body cavity will kill.
It's just a matter of how quickly, and how much work is involved in recovering it.
