Rib deflectioin
First off let me say i have greatly enjoyed reading everyones stories and looking at pictures of everybodies hunts. I'm in Japan for a year and missing this hunting season. I just got done reading the post from atlasman, "Magnus stinger destroyed by rib" and it got me thinking about the doe i shot 2 years ago, she was completely broadside and i hit her perfect but when i got to the arrow it stunk(gut hit) and i couldn't figure it out, there was very little blood trail and it was dark and if it was a gut hit i wanted to wait. so the next morningi continue thesearch and when i found her my entrance hole was right where i thought it should be but the exit hole was behind the ribs on the opposite side, while dressing her i found i only took out one lung and then it went through her guts. So do you all think a rib deflected the arrow or what? I shoot a Buckmaster G2 set at 70lbs with muzzy 3 blades and Easton A/C/C.

RE: Rib deflectioin
I would only expect a BH to deflect if it were a mechanical or a dull fixed blade.
I think that if onlythe point of 1 blade on a mechanical were to hit bone on the way in, then the opening action would throw the arrow sideways or change it's direction.
No proof of that, just my theory.
Mine have all gone straight through, but I shoot heavy shafts and fixed blades.
