Isn't this taught in Hunter's Safety Programs? I know we had a video that we watched call shoot or dont shoot. one was a deer in the brush, but it was actually a guy carrying a deer out over his shoulder. It's not a good idea to draw before you know what is there. Archery is considered a safe sport and we dont need any more accidents giving our sport a bad rep.

NOT drawing on the "noise" likely cost me a shot at a deer, this past week. he was a great deer......but the thought just NEVER crosses my mind to do so. I don't draw until I've figured out it's a deer.....AND if it's a deer I want to take. I HAVE drawn on deer I KNEW I wasn't going to take.....but I don't set the pins on 'em. I haven't even done that, this year. EVERY deer I've drawn down on.....I intended to shoot.

The fact that some people do this (Draw on noise, alone) scares me.

I don't draw until I'm ready to shoot. Takes me about 3 or 4 seconds to draw, aim and release and arrow in a hunting situation. I actually start aiming before I draw the bow, so drawing before I see something just wouldn't make sense to me.

I might stand up and get ready to shoot if I hear something, but usually I wait until I see something. I hear so many things in the woods that sound like deer I would be standing up and drawing continuously the whole time I was in the stand.

And to be honest, most of the deer I see walk in without making any noise at all, they just show up.

102 to 1. I can't believe one person actually draws his bow just because he heard a noise. That person probably shoots a 50 lb bow with 80% letoff.
