Already starting/ed...
I took a scenic route home tonight, first field in daylight cruising was a solid 140" ten, the next field a solid 140" 9, 50 yards away in the next field across the hedge was a solid 130" 8..those two came together, postured but walked away form one another...no doe in site....they out and about...

I'll be out before first light in the morning,if it's not pouring rain. I'm planning on hunting all day. What ever rain we do get is supposed to stop by 9:00AM. I'm psyched. I got trail cam pics of 6 different bucks last week, 2 shooters, during daylight hours! I think it's the beginning.

I started seeing/witnessing heavy pre-rut last week, as bucks were strolling around "searching".
This morning, I saw the rut in progress as they were now chasing.
I will be out tomorrow and Friday mornings, then I'm booked up on other out of state obligations until next Monday, Lord willing I will tag out with a buck before the weekend gets here, but who knows. I've got 3 weeks left to fill my archery tag, but I would love to be done (only because I'm headed into my 8th month of pregnancy). I *really* shouldn't be out there doing what I am doing right now, but on the flip side, trapsing around the woods the last month has really helped keep the weight gain down! LOL
Good luck to all and congrats on the doe....

Congrats on your deer.
I have not been able to hunt yet, because of my surgery rehabilitation and arm problems, but I have been checking my cameras every 4 - 5 days. So far, here in So. Arkansas, I have seen no signs of the rut kicking in. The weather here has been warm. Upper 70's until today, rain front came through and cooled it down to the 60's.
Have been seeing lots of nubbinheads, spikes and forked horns eating side by side withlots ofdoes. Have seen three quality bucks. A 6 , a wide short spindly 8 , and a wide tall heavy 8. But they are roaming. I have not been seeing them consistantly. Hopefully, if you guys have it cranking up , up there, it will get going down here soon.
Good luck and be safe.
