I'm glad I didn't catcha bunch of flack for hitting the deer bad... I see that a lot on discussion forums but it really does happen to everyone from time to time. After harvesting a couple hundred deer over the years you begin to get a feel for where wounded deer will travel and more importantly, what they're capable of. That's a big key to finding wounded game! My gut feeling was that this deer wasn't capable of much more travel but since time is always on your side... waiting a little longer didn't hurt.
BuckGirl, I'm in Southern Indiana near Louisville Kentucky. I hunt 55 counties though- probably pass through your town from time to time. Fully clothed of course.

Thanks guys, glad I could be of some value... even if it was comedic value! [X(]
I get into some pretty crazysituations in my adventures but I always try to do a good writeup of the comical stuff for our members on Midwest Predator Hunters. It's cool how so many of us share the same hobbies and interest and when someonegets intosomething crazy like this we can all relate and laugh together. I think it's nice to have some stories like this to read when you are couped up in an office or otherwise confined from the outdoors. Glad you enjoyed the story but next time I hope it's someone else's turn to draw the laughter!
