Best post EVER.

Now, some of you may be asking yourselves at this point...

"What makes this post, of the thousands of posts made before it, the best ever?"

Well, run with me a minute, and I think you'll begin to get the jist of why.

Which is better, Carbon or Aluminum?

Carbon has its advantages; it is more durable for one. I suggest talking to your local pro shop about the realities of both materials, trying them out for yourself at the shop, and then making your purchase.

Whisker Biscuit or Drop Away?

Again, they both have certain advantages.

The WB, being fully enclosed, allows you to turn your bow at any angle, without the arrow falling off the rest.

However, with the advent of newer capture devices that can be glued to the shelf in front of more conventional crop aways, these rests can be made to do the same thing.

A drop away allows for the least amount of arrow contact with the rest.

I suggest going to your local pro shop and talking to the employees and maybe seeing if they'll allow you to try out both style rests; that way you have hands-on experience with both products before making your purchase.

String Loop or No?

There is no good reason not to shoot with a loop.

I suggest having your local pro shop tie one on for you the next time you're in and trying it out. If you like it, keep it. If you don't, remove it and shoot off the string.

Is it a shooter?

I don't know; is it?

It depends on your own personal standards that you set for yourself before you hit the woods. If you can't make that decision up for yourself, maybe you should spend a little time thinking about what exactly you're after this year.

What does he score?

Does it really matter?

Any animal taken with a bow is a trophy in my book, and it should be in yours as well.

If you hunt a property with a minimum antler point restriction, theres are numerous guides available online for rough scoring your animals on the hoof. Take a gander, and I'm sure you'll find one.

I bait; am I hunting ethically?

Is it legal?

Yes?

Then yes.

Illegal?

Yes.

Then no.

Case closed.

Which camo should I buy?

Any open pattern camoflauge available on the market today will work, but its mainly personal preference.

I suggest looking at Predator, Enigma, or ASAT.

How's my form?

Could be better.

I shot one, now what?

Get off the computer and get back in the woods.

Find your deer.

Use every available resource at your disposal to find your animal.

Mechanical heads or Fixed?

They both have their advantages.

There have been hundreds of threads on this in the past.

Run a search.

If you can, try them both out at your local pro shop and see which one flies better out of your equipment.

When is the rut?

It's based on the amount of daylight.

It varies from one region to the next, though in most regions it starts towards the middle of November.

Is this the same buck?

Does it have the same amount of points?
Does the mass look the same?
Are they the same width?
Are those even antlers?
Are you kidding me?

Is my draw length correct?

No, you're probably a half of an inch to an inch overdrawn.

Get that fixed.

Is this post getting too long?

Probably.

Are you going to end it soon?

Definitely.

And my all time favorite,

Which bow should I buy?

Go to your local pro shop and check them out.

Tell them your price range, and shoot every bow that they have in that range.

Pick the one that feels best to you.

Anymore, names are just names. Every manufacturer makes a good bow; some better than others, but all that matters is that it fits you and feels good when you shoot it.

Have it set up properly, and be happy.

Stop second guessing your decision because you didn't buy a Bowtech or a Mathews. Be happy with what you purchased; if you don't have confidence in your equipment don't take it into the woods.

Well folks, I think you'll agree:

That about covers it.

If you think I missed one, add it below.

Enjoy the best post ever, because before long it'll fade into the pages of history and these questions will be asked yet again.

Without using the search feature first.

:D;)

You are right... this *IS* the best post ever.

I dropped my entire pack of Marlboro's on the ground, the deer walked under my stand and ate them ALL...
...should I be smoking in the woods?

I stubbed my toe and yelled some profanities, what if the deer is a Baptist, will he come back, knowing there is apotty mouth sitting in the woods...
...Will he be back?

I had the runs before I went hunting, but I was out of toilet paper...
...Does Scentlok work?

I need some help!!! My brother in law's uncle's cousin has some land I'm going to hunt on tomorrow and I've never been there. I need to know where is the best place to hunt. There is a few fields of some kind of grasses and some woods, I think there might be a ridge in it. Also, a creek runs through it. I need to know by 7pm tonight where is the best place to hang a stand, cause I have to pick up my new bow from the proshop before they close. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow on the first buck that walks past! BTW, my bow rules!!!! Yours sucks!!!!

This is my favorite from the Yankeepride:

TDWW

Your assertions regarding the Northern Whitetail could not be more wrong. Just last week, I was vacationing in the poconos when I decided to take a nature hike. I wassleeping in a Sycamore tree, on a particularly low branch, when a young whitetail buck emerged beneath me. He was distracted, indulging in a myriad of lush fauna, flora, forbs and shoots.

I pounced.

After a brief struggle, I had him secured in a Figure-4 submission leghold (using pressure point-specific grappling maneuvers). After he realizedmy power and athletic prowess, he stopped fighting, andallowed me toproceed witha field examination.

I noted that this was a particularly fine specimen with an exceptionally shiny coat. His muscle tone was spectacular, with good bulge and mighty strength.Antler growth was ahead of the curve, and his hoofs looked healthy with no sign of ingrown toenails or plantar warts. He was otherwise free of warbles, mites and other harmful saprophytes. I did remove a tick from his ear. He had no cavities.

He weighed approximately 182 pounds on the hoof, give or take.

I would like to add the next days post to this one....

Please help, I shot the biggest buck of my life today.....hit him right in the boiler room with my new bow thats better than yours. Got down and found my arrow, arrow is covered in green stuff, white slimy stuff, somefat, some pieces of antler, and a little blood. Looked like good sign to me so I got right on the trail. Not much of ablood trail and I bumped the deer 4 times before the blood trail stopped. Called cousin Ray Ray and we looked every where and did grid searches for 38 minutes with no luck. Where do you think the deer went, did I do anything wrong? Please help me find my buck.....

Save your money.

Buy an apple before you hit the woods.

Take one with you to the stand.

Apples kill the odor in your breath.

Mr. Washington........nice that you have changed your picture icon.....good post, not to bash it though.....but i can see that you are upset that everyone asks the same dumb questions.....likewise so am i....however, i do not find any instructions or directions for those "new" comers to the forums to utilize the search option so that we don't see the same questions over and over......maybe we can suggest to put something in large letters or make the search box bigger on the web page so that this can be avoided.....someone has to stand up for the little guy....
