I put on my dirty camo, filled up with gas, smoked a cigarette (or a pack), stood around the camp fire and went hunting. I didn't see a deer!!! What am I doing wrong?

This is a damn fine post. This is my favorite one of all, funniest thing I've ever read. TOPDAWGs Alligator mating call post!
Respect!
MOTOWNHONKEY,

No hesitation. None. Actually had to call him in to where I could get a hold of him. Any time a grown man stands on the bank of the family farm before dawn giving an alligator mating call, you know he demands it.

I did have to use a chain when the rope I was using broke. The gator was feisty, but tired when we finally met toe to toe. I pounced upon his noggin like a bobcat jumping a wounded rabbit......had to cover his eyes, then tape his mouth shut.

Once they have their mouths taped, all you have to worry about is them rolling or their tail getting you. I can tell you that a gator's tail, especially one that size, feels like a 2x4 hitting you if they make contact. Nothing but muscle and precision coming with brute force against you. Many times, this is what can knock a human off of their pins and down to the gator's level so that the gator can attack and many times kill.

Fortunately, this partucular was so tired by the time I got him up that he had given up almost completely. A few swipes that I managed to get out of the way before that tail caught me. Again, I am limber, swift, and something like a crossbreed between Ston Cold Steve Austin and that tall black receiver that plays in the NFL - Moss. Just a blend of power and athleticism. Strength like Sammy Sosa hopped up on steroids and smarts like Bobby Cox, HC of the Braves. And that's respect.

Ahhh yes Greg the infamous Topdawg. If only he would put down his riffel and grab a bow. He would surley be a legend.

I went hunting tonight in the snow, but wanted to make sure I was quiet so I went barefoot. I Duct taped the chemical foot warmers to the top of my feet but they still got cold. Can anyone help me please?

Yes next time, tape the warmers to the top of your head, it will help... I promise.

Is it OK to pee from the stand?
Only in an empty coke bottle.

And it has to be a coke bottle.

Ok, I think I may have asked one of these questions. I tried to rush and delete it, but..no luck. I am also quite sure I will NOT ask any of these questions, ever. lol.
Also, I use a coffee can.

Because of the frequency I'm seeing some of the questions being posted lately, I've decided to once again bring The Best Post EVER back from the depths.

For those of you who have had the pleasure of reading it, enjoy.

For those of you who are seeing this for the first time, enjoy.

Do grunt calls work?

Absolutely, it just depends on the time of year.

Which arrows should I use?

Straight ones, spined correctly for your set-up.

It's cold outside, how do I stay warm on stand?

Dress in layers and try to avoid working up a sweat on the way to your stand. Wear a moisture wicking base layer followed by fleece or wool.

Where should I hang my stand?

In a tree.

Psshaww, who cares another, "I'll save the world post"... Look at me..look at me, everyone..

String loop---> don't shoot one, don't want too..That's my good reason not too. I have shot one before, and Isee no need for it. Unless you have an ill-fitting, off the shelf, bought bow, and need to "make-up" some length!

Every ? answered in a nutshell. But you do have to realize that this forum is used to ask these redundant questions and we should not fault the undereducated bowhunter for asking such questions. But as for myself I do agree this has got to be the best post ever hands down.

Now, some of you may be asking yourselves at this point...

"What makes this post, of the thousands of posts made before it, the best ever?"

Well, run with me a minute, and I think you'll begin to get the jist of why.

Which is better, Carbon or Aluminum?

Carbon has its advantages; it is more durable for one. I suggest talking to your local pro shop about the realities of both materials, trying them out for yourself at the shop, and then making your purchase.

Whisker Biscuit or Drop Away?

Again, they both have certain advantages.

The WB, being fully enclosed, allows you to turn your bow at any angle, without the arrow falling off the rest.

However, with the advent of newer capture devices that can be glued to the shelf in front of more conventional crop aways, these rests can be made to do the same thing.

A drop away allows for the least amount of arrow contact with the rest.

I suggest going to your local pro shop and talking to the employees and maybe seeing if they'll allow you to try out both style rests; that way you have hands-on experience with both products before making your purchase.

String Loop or No?

There is no good reason not to shoot with a loop.

I suggest having your local pro shop tie one on for you the next time you're in and trying it out. If you like it, keep it. If you don't, remove it and shoot off the string.

Is it a shooter?

I don't know; is it?

It depends on your own personal standards that you set for yourself before you hit the woods. If you can't make that decision up for yourself, maybe you should spend a little time thinking about what exactly you're after this year.

What does he score?

Does it really matter?

Any animal taken with a bow is a trophy in my book, and it should be in yours as well.

If you hunt a property with a minimum antler point restriction, theres are numerous guides available online for rough scoring your animals on the hoof. Take a gander, and I'm sure you'll find one.

I bait; am I hunting ethically?

Is it legal?

Yes?

Then yes.

Illegal?

Yes.

Then no.

Case closed.

Which camo should I buy?

Any open pattern camoflauge available on the market today will work, but its mainly personal preference.

I suggest looking at Predator, Enigma, or ASAT.

How's my form?

Could be better.

I shot one, now what?

Get off the computer and get back in the woods.

Find your deer.

Use every available resource at your disposal to find your animal.

Mechanical heads or Fixed?

They both have their advantages.

There have been hundreds of threads on this in the past.

Run a search.

If you can, try them both out at your local pro shop and see which one flies better out of your equipment.

When is the rut?

It's based on the amount of daylight.

It varies from one region to the next, though in most regions it starts towards the middle of November.

Is this the same buck?

Does it have the same amount of points?
Does the mass look the same?
Are they the same width?
Are those even antlers?
Are you kidding me?

Is my draw length correct?

No, you're probably a half of an inch to an inch overdrawn.

Get that fixed.

Is this post getting too long?

Probably.

Are you going to end it soon?

Definitely.

And my all time favorite,

Which bow should I buy?

Go to your local pro shop and check them out.

Tell them your price range, and shoot every bow that they have in that range.

Pick the one that feels best to you.

Anymore, names are just names. Every manufacturer makes a good bow; some better than others, but all that matters is that it fits you and feels good when you shoot it.

Have it set up properly, and be happy.

Stop second guessing your decision because you didn't buy a Bowtech or a Mathews. Be happy with what you purchased; if you don't have confidence in your equipment don't take it into the woods.

Well folks, I think you'll agree:

That about covers it.

If you think I missed one, add it below.

Enjoy the best post ever, because before long it'll fade into the pages of history and these questions will be asked yet again.

Without using the search feature first.

:D;)
