About a week ago I had a mama and her two twin buttons come under me. They stayed around my tree soooo long, the mama finally winded me and ran to some thick cover about 30 yards away. The boys never knew the difference. I've seen mature bucks let smaller ones lead the way as if to see if anything dangerous is ahead, then they will follow. They don't get big by being dumb, though they do start out that way.

lmao...that is hilarious! I have seen 2 buttons this year. One was an absolute STUD. His nubs were about the size of a quarter and he looked to be about 100#. The other was a bitty thing. He looked to be about 40#. I'm guessing the first guy must have been born real early to be so big.
